Are you thinking about making the switch to a tankless water heater? It’s something many Ontario residents are considering. If your current water heater is old or showing signs that it may be time to replace it, a tankless water heater is worth considering. In this blog, our plumbing experts will explain what a tankless water heater is and outline 5 key benefits of this option for your home.

What is a tankless water heater?

A tankless water heater heats the water in your home on demand. This is why it’s also known as an on-demand water heater. Unlike traditional water heaters that store and constantly heat a large tank of water, tankless water heaters heat water as it is needed. They are smaller, more compact, and reduce the risk of water leaks.

6 Benefits of Tankless Water Heaters

Here are some key benefits to consider if you are thinking about installing a tankless water heater:

Unlimited Hot Water

Tired of being the one at home who has to take a cold shower? Tankless water heaters solve the issue of running out of hot water from time to time. Since tankless water heaters heat water on demand, they provide an unlimited supply of hot water. This is particularly beneficial for large families or homes that use a lot of hot water.

Energy Efficiency

Looking to cut down the cost of your energy bill? Tankless water heaters are highly energy efficient. They only heat water when it is needed, which eliminates standby losses that occur with traditional water heaters. They consume less energy overall, resulting in lower energy bills and a reduced carbon footprint.

Better Water Quality

Since tankless water heaters do not store water, there is less chance of sediment buildup or rust. This improves water quality and reduces the likelihood of leaks or damage to the water heater.

Space Saving

Need some extra space in the basement? Traditional water heaters can be bulky and take up a lot of space. Tankless water heaters, on the other hand, are compact and can be mounted on a wall, which saves valuable floor space.

ROI

Tankless water heaters have a longer lifespan than traditional water heaters. They can last up to 20 years, while traditional water heaters typically last around 10-15 years. This means that homeowners can enjoy the benefits of their investment for many years to come.

Smart Technology Integration

Many tankless water heaters are now equipped with smart technology that allows homeowners to control the temperature of the water, monitor usage, and receive alerts if there are any issues.
These benefits make tankless water heaters a great investment for homeowners who want to save money, reduce their carbon footprint, and enjoy the convenience of an endless supply of hot water.
